How It Works

TripDeck saves your trip locally in your browser (`localStorage`) as you build it so it loads seamlessly without a network connection.

Once you've opened TripDeck online, you can return to it in airplane mode or in low-coverage areas and still access your complete itinerary, including flight details, lodging addresses, confirmation codes, and personal notes.

Install for Quick Access

For the best offline experience on mobile or desktop, choose Add to Home Screen or Install App in your browser menu. This installs TripDeck as a Progressive Web App (PWA), giving you one-tap access directly from your app grid without needing an active web connection.

Offline Features & Limitations

Most core features work seamlessly offline, though real-time web services require an active connection:

• Works Offline: Viewing and editing your itinerary, expanding event cards, time zone calculations, popular airport lookups, accessing packing checklists, and toggling themes.
• Requires Connection: Live flight status lookups, place autocomplete searches, initial Mapbox tile downloads, and live weather forecast updates.

• Can I edit my trip offline? Yes. All trip content is stored locally and can be edited without a connection.
• Will the map work offline? The base map tiles download on first use, so you can view your itinerary locations.
• What happens to the packing list offline? The packing list works fully offline.
• Do I need to do anything special to enable offline access? Load the trip when you're in signal range and it works automatically after that. Changes you make will be saved to your account when you're back online.
• How do I add TripDeck to my home screen? Open TripDeck, tap the browser menu, and select Add to Home Screen or Install App.
